Bastille Day Macarons

New York Street Fair with some French Style? Sounded like a good idea to take a walk on nice weekend day.

As I walked to the crowds, I started to try to take it all in. From the blue, white and red flags, to the street performers, and balloon making men. To the endless food stands that feature some of the street fair regulars like the lemonade stands and strange grilled food stands, to the more appropriate to the occasion, wine and cheese, and chocolate croissants stands.

And then Voilà !!!

A macaron stand! It all came together, even the stand looked the most beautiful to me. I quickly worked my way to the front and got my macarons. We shortly walked out of the fair as if I was a kid walking out of the fair with a hat made out a balloons and a lollipop in hand.

That was a happy day…

My Second Love

For those that know me well, they know that I love New York. As much as I admire many other cities I never feel more like home like when I am in New York…

Until I met Rome.

I am not sure if it was the grandness of its history and monuments and art, the amazing food and the incredible well dressed Italians, or the little hidden cobble stone streets, and the jazz musician playing on the street as the night and great wine starts to soothe our senses. The feeling that something amazing took place in this city once, and the potential for so much future greatness.

Maybe it just reminded me of home, as my husband and I embarked ourselves into our Italian journey..

A Little Miracle

I woke up this week to discover that the dry sad stems of what used to be a beautiful elegant plant last year had a new flower. This is the first time ever that an orchid has re bloomed on my watch. It was almost like a little miracle just happened.

Spring at Madison Square Park

Sometimes all you need is to stop and “smell the roses” or the tulips or wet dogs at the doggy park. Lucky for me I was able do just that and take a lunch break from the studio to enjoy one of our first beautiful spring days of this year.
